Flint Hills

I have always wanted to "get lost" in the Flint Hills of Kansas. This summer, I took a day and just drove several hundred miles taking photographs.

This photograph was taken out behind the Lower Fox Creek schoolhouse. I met a fellow photographer who was doing medium format photography. As we stood there talking shop, the sunlight decided to break through the clouds.

  1. Brenda, this is a really a fantastic photo, and it reminds me so much of home. The Flint hills are a beautiful place and hopefully you will get lost in the hills again and show us some more. Keep up the fine work.

  2. Breathtaking photo! I wish I would have had a chance to go there & take photos. I read about Flint Hills in the Herald and then again in a book. Thank you for sharing it on here. :-)

  3. Hi Brenda,

I love the lighting you captured here as well as the depth. The fence acts as a bit of foreground anchor which simultaneously adds interest up front and helps build that aforementioned depth. Excellent image.
